1. THE Program Is “THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS” – A 17 minute History Detective TV Segment on a Cinderella stamp Printed by a part of the U.S. Communist Party in the 1930’s
2. Followed by a viewing of the only known contemporaneous used, tied copy of this stamp by Joe Crosby who discovered it after seeing the TV Program.
3. Next we will put the stamps and mailing labes on the OKPEX SHOW notice cards.

The US Post Office held a formal First Day of Sale ceremony with a special cancellation for the new Oklahoma Flag Stamp - which is included in the recently issued coil strip of state flag stamps. Ours was one of 10 capitol cities across the country that offered the Flags of Our Nation postmarks on Aug 11.
The ceremony was held at the Oklahoma History Center in OKC which is located on the NE corner of the State Capitol Complex. The keynote speaker was Lt. Gov. Lamb.
If you were not able to attend the ceremony, cancels can still be ordered from by sending a request to:

THIS TUESDAY EVENING THE OKLAHOMA CITY STAMP CLUB WILL GET A FREE TRIP TO HAWAII, COMPLEMENTS OF OUR MEMBER DON COLLINS. Your trip will not get cancelled – unlike the stamps of Hawaii that Don is bringing us to see and learn about. That is right – Don’s program will feature the “Cancellations of Hawaii”.
Sorry, American Airlines has informed us that no free miles will be accumulated on this trip.
We should also have OPS and APS circuits to buy from. When they arrive we will notify everyone what is in them so you can bring your want lists.
Doors open at 7:00 PM at Asbury United Methodist Church. We will be in the big room – upstairs. Program starts around 7:30. SW 38th and Blackwelder. See you there.
